Does a Plan Review timeframe include a Change of Circumstances?

On submission of a Change of Circumstances the participant or provider to will receive receipt with a key contact person who will support the participant and organisation through a Change of Circumstances.

When the NDIA loses documents which are intended to trigger a review, the provider should not be responsible for funding the supports for the participant. The NDIA should fund the provider to continue to provide supports and maintain care for the participant in accommodation setting. This will prevent participants becoming homeless or hospitalised due to the NDIA losing paperwork and failing to act on underfunded plans. This will also prevent providers from closing down due to NDIA’s poor practice and lack of accountability.

Provider’s tend to care more for the participants well-being than the NDIA. Core budgets are currently undergoing a significant reduction which is placing participants at risk of neglect.

As a Service Provider we currently providing supports FREE OF CHARGE to three participants in 24/7 accommodation settings to prevent the participant from neglect or homeless. This is because the NDIA is not acting in a timely manner. Core Budgets are reduced so much so that providers are expected to be neglectful to participants needing high level supports, highly unethical and unacceptable practices currently in place at the moment.
Core Support budgets need to capture the actual support needs and not the NDIA’s budget limitation needs.
