Transcript – Auslan version of the Consultation on draft lists of NDIS supports

On 27 March 2024, the Australian Government introduced into Parliament changes to the NDIS Act 2013 (NDIS Act).

The National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No 1) Bill 2024 is based on the recommendations of the NDIS Review.

The changes in the Bill and new rules will enable improvements to the NDIS.

We want to demonstrate we are listening to community feedback and will make changes based on your feedback as much as we can.

We are seeking your feedback on the first few rules to support the Bill.

The first is a transitional rule that relates to section 10 of the Bill.

It will define what NDIS funding can and cannot be spent on.

This transitional rule will need to be in place if and when the Bill commences.

We will engage with the disability community and other stakeholders to develop a longer-term rule regarding NDIS Supports.

The transitional rule will end once the longer-term rule starts.

We have created a discussion paper and some questions to help us understand if we have got this transitional rule right, or what we might need to change.
