Assistant Minister Landry’s video transcript
Transcript of Assistant Minister Landry’s video to launch the online consultation for the successor plan to the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020
As the Assistant Minister for Children and Families, I am thrilled to announce that online consultations are now open for the successor plan to the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children.
This is a very important piece of work, and I hope that it will set Australia up for the next 10 years with a coordinated, long-term strategy for keeping our kids safe.
The challenges are big – we have 45,000 children in out-of-home care.
Indigenous kids continue to be overrepresented in child protection systems.
And there are many families and children in our communities who need access to effective early intervention support.
And I want you to have your say – kids, families, young people, foster and kinship carers and those with a passion for improving child protection and safety.
So please ensure that your voice is heard by visiting the Department of Social Services’ website.
Through this successor plan I am confident that together we can, and we will, secure a real difference in the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable kids.
