Withdrawal Process

Participation in this review is voluntary, and participants may withdraw at any time without penalty and without needing to give a reason.

Participants may request to withdraw their contribution up until 31 July 2026. Where a withdrawal request is received before this date, reasonable steps will be taken to remove the participant’s information from the review dataset.

After 31 July 2026, data may be de-identified and incorporated into aggregated analysis. At this point, it may not be possible to identify or remove individual contributions from the dataset.

In addition, once information has been captured as an official record, it is subject to Commonwealth record-keeping requirements. This means that records may need to be retained for legal, accountability and audit purposes and cannot generally be deleted. In these circumstances, withdrawal will not result in destruction of records, but appropriate administrative steps will be taken, such as restricting access or noting the withdrawal in accordance with departmental policy.
