In order to make changes to the current system you need to look at ADEs and the NDIS. Many people will be with the NDIS and so it makes sense to look at the connection to NDIS. Only so much can be done in isolation. There stories of people who become disabled and are found other jobs. What needs to happen is to find the so called ‘higher functioning’ people with intellectual handicaps and get them in to open employment. These people can then help break down barriers for others. Incentives don’t last as long as good people breaking barriers.
