Consultation on the future of Income Management

The Government is consulting on the future of Income Management across Australia.

Any decisions on the future of Income Management will be based on consultation with key stakeholders including states, territories and communities.

The Department of Social Services (the department) is continuing to undertake consultation to understand people’s views on the future of Income Management.

The department wants to hear from people about:

• what you like or don’t like about an Income Management card and its features
• what information and education do people need if Income Management is no longer compulsory
• how people can be best supported if there are future changes to Income Management.

Information captured through consultations will inform future decision making on Income Management across Australia.
