the research seems out of date, difficult to see why statistics are so hard to provide. Getting information eg Gateway and Recognition Act to carers is poor. There is no co-ordination between government services, little legal advice or financial training. Consumer and carer orientated services are needed because career is Essential. There are not enough Respite Services. There is no provision for Careers with a mental illness, other than counselling. Enduring Power of Attorney and Power of Attorney need looking at because of all the privacy rules and regulations.
I needed a Case Manager and checklists of things to do, things we need at home, Organisations and services. Plus a Diagram of all the Departments involved. Also some certainty and consistency in carers lives!!
