Make a submission

You can make a submission by uploading a document of your choice.

Making a submission allows you to write about your experience with the Scheme in your own words. Your submission does not need to be long or detailed. To help you focus your submission, we encourage you to provide feedback on the Review’s priority areas, particularly where there are key issues, risks or opportunities for improvement. It is important that you refrain from providing detailed personal or sensitive information about your experience of abuse. The Review is focussed on how the Scheme has operated, and this information is not required to participate.

Your submission can be anonymous if you would like.

The Review will focus on priority areas for improvement and critical measures to support safe closure of the Scheme. It will consider:

  • how the Scheme ensures survivors know about the Scheme and can access the application process
  • how the Scheme can deliver timely and quality application outcomes in the time remaining
  • lessons learned from the operation of the Scheme that can inform future support and services for survivors.

If you haven’t applied for redress through the Scheme, you can still make a submission. You can share your views on the Scheme, including any reasons you chose not to apply or barriers you have observed, or anything else you would like the independent reviewer to know.
