I suggest the following change:
The Principles and Outcomes could benefit from emphasising the rights of persons with a disability to access paid and unpaid work, to receive equal treatment free from direct and indirect discrimination, and be supported in receiving reasonable accommodations in the work place to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
Gaining and maintaining employment is a particular challenge for many persons with a disability due to the direct and indirect discrimination they often face from employers, and the lack of accessibility and inclusiveness they experience in many workplaces. I think it’s important we note the importance of advocacy in this space to best support persons with a disability in the workforce.
