15602 – Individual submission

I have been working as a NDIS Support Coordinator for over 2 years. On two occasions i have required to assist NDIS participants to obtain a disability advocate to represent them with the AAT post having their disability needs rejected with the NDIS review of reviewable decision. I have called all the disability advocates and the first response i get they are at capacity and are unable to provide representation for my participants. We need more disability advocacy services that are able to represent NDIS participants if they need their case heard at the AAT. Definitely not enough disability advocates out their to assist participants on NDIS. Hopefully change in government will change this.
