Families and carers of people living with a disability require strong representations and help with advocacy. There are some great organizations like Family Advocacy in NSW which for many years is working for people with disabilities and their families bringing systemic advocacy to the highest levels. The expertise and professionalism of the staff brings real and tangible results for us with their workshops, conferences and support service across NSW. In our particular case Family Advocacy was instrumental first in helping our son with integrated mainstream schooling. Then during the years we went to workshops about developing a vision for our son, the creation of a Circle of Support, independent living, inclusion,choice,a meaningful life and many other basic human rights taken for granted by the broader population. Organizations like Family Advocacy must get the full support from the Government to keep doing their best for people living with disabilities. Thank you.
