We are profoundly concerned and horrified that funding for Action for People with Disability will cease in 2018.
Vulnerable families such as our own have benefited greatly from the knowledge and expertise of our advocate Ms Christine Agius, from ‘Action’ who navigate the extremely difficult process of negotiating the most appropriate course of action for very disabled people such as our daughter .
Such council we believe is very much in the interest of the community at large. There needs to be an increase and continuation of funding for individual advocacy . We recommend that NDIA take into consideration the needs of such disabled people and the worth of experienced advocates.
