I feel that the statement “I choose the supports I need to meet my goals…” in the diagram on page 102 of 126 is misleading.

Participants suggest the supports that they feel they need to meet their goals, but NDIA alone (except where the AAT has jurisdiction) determine what supports are “reasonable and necessary”.

This statement suggests that the supports provided are the Participant’s sole choice, which is incorrect. Choice of Provider should not be confused with choice of supports.
