Legislative Instruments (NDIS Supports):
Legislative Instruments (Miscellaneous Provisions):
On 27 March 2024, the Australian Government introduced into Parliament changes to the NDIS Act 2013 (NDIS Act). These changes are proposed under a Bill called the ‘National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No 1) Bill 2024’. The changes in the Bill provide a framework for improvements to the NDIS.
If the changes become the law, there will be a new definition of NDIS support to help participants and providers to understand what NDIS funding can be used for. This will enable more flexible planning and new budget setting arrangements as recommended by the NDIS Review.
We would like to ask for your feedback on draft lists about how NDIS funding can be used.
NDIS Supports
The draft lists will become part of a transitional rule about NDIS Supports, remaining in place until the Commonwealth and States and Territories formally agree on a new rule to replace it.
Once public consultation has been finalised, and subject to the passage of the Bill before the Parliament, this approach is intended to provide greater certainty and empower participants to make better, more-informed decisions about the right supports for them.
