What matters most to measure and report on as we seek to achieve inclusive and accessible communities for people with disability?

Participant needs to be more guided to get out to community with a support worker. That support worker should have a plain non logo shirt, so that participant are not feeling uncomfortable.

Better easier access to assistance therapy dogs or fast track with puppy cost and local training professional to train dog to help participants get out of the house knowing they have their dog for support if anxiety or panic attacks happen.

Transport money should also go to carers how take participants to many therapies.

Some small activities paid for to access Community as dsp isn’t  a lot of money to live off.

What is most important to measure and report on as we seek to achieve economic security for people with disability?

For my participant working would be an option with a therapy assistant dog due to depression anxiety, ptsd, Autism, panic attacks, brain injury, left sided weakness. Unable to leave the house only for appointments. Being on dsp is not a lot to live off. Some people aren’t capable of maintaining a job.

What is most important to measure and report on as we seek to achieve health and wellbeing outcomes for people with disability?

More therapist need to available over the Christmas period as mental health doesn’t stop.
Paid in patients beds in private hospital programs, mental health nurses, psychiatric care for medications and help.
Don’t think their is funding for therapy dogs that would be beneficial to participants in need.

What is most important to measure and report on as we seek to achieve rights, protection, justice and legislation outcomes for people with disability?

Don’t really feel like anyone truly cares.

What is most important to measure and report on as we seek to achieve learning and skills outcomes for people with disability?

Need better trained teachers to deal with disabilities.

What is most important to measure and report on as we seek to achieve personal and community support outcomes for people with disability?

My care for carers like counsellors, a massage therapist every 6 months.
EVERY participant should have support coordinator to help them navigate their plan.

Question 7:

How often would you like to see progress against the outcomes for people with disability in the National Disability Strategy and the National Disability Insurance Scheme reported?

It does help better than nothing we had before. The cleaning, therapy, support coordinator. But more can be done help each individual circumstances, think outside the box.
Therapy dogs needed now, more mobility equipment eg 4 wheeler for participants on rural areas with land.
Less red tape, confusing jargon. Just plain and simple.

Is there anything else that you think should be considered when we are monitoring and measuring the impact of activities on people with disability?

Improve the individual participants life with what items, medical equipment, therapy dogs, all terrain vehicles many more that will make a real difference to their quality of life.
