No did doesn’t it does not mention anything about supported decision making, consulting people with disabilities when making decisions, getting the approval from participants to approve plans. Changes to plan management will give participants less choice and control. Did doesn’t mention about changes to improve the experiences of participants and people with disabilities of the NDIS about existing supports that were previously funded under the state system or territory system and how it will ensure participants and people with disabilities are not worse off and disadvantaged under the NDIS compared to the state and territory system. Doesn’t state what is reasonable and necessary and how people with disabilities can apply to access the NDIS and what information is needed to access the NDIS.

Transitioning previous supports funded under the state and territory system automatically across to the NDIS without sending participants to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) to get a decision overturned to have items reinstated in their NDIS plan to give more flexibility, choice and control over what they can use their funding for. Less people should be going to the AAT or even court. The tune review report shows the reasons why participants are having to go to the AAT or court due to the way the NDIA make decisions and due to goals not be supported and complied with under the NDIS. Reports show most people are going to the AAT because their statement of participant supports are not being complied with.

Improve the time it takes for participants to receive a return phone call from NDIA after participants call up the NDIA with a issue. Planners not well experienced and don’t know what is important to participants. Planners not knowing how to develop a person centred, open and holistic plan to meet participants goals and aspirations.

Not all changes being made including greater choice and control.

Participants having different opinions to what is in the legislation.

Participants should not be waiting a long time to hear back from NDIA. No direct number to ring the person from NDIA and having to ring the 1800800110 number and get another referral sent to the region and wait weeks for a return phone call. There should be a direct phone number for participants to ring the person from NDIA back.

Different interpretations and terminology is hard to understand and know what to use when at the planning meeting, don’t know whether to say respite, short term accommodation, increase social community participation and inclusion or social community participation and inclusion etc. Terminology is complex and don’t know how to word everything.

Good timing extra time needed for when more information is required to access the NDIS when participants have to apply for a review.

Supported Decision Making to be used co-designed with people with disabilities.

No

No. Participants don’t need to keep records if plan-managed and greater choice and control is needed for participants to have flexibility on what they would like to use their NDIS funding for.

No

No

No

No as participants should be able to have their plan plan managed without any issue or else it will give participants less choice and control. If a participant asks for their plan to be plan managed and the agency doesn’t allow the participant to be plan managed and only allow participant to have their plan agency managed it will give less choice and control to participants and more money will be sent back to the NDIA due to less flexibility and not allowing plan to be plan managed.
