Improving Participant Pathway – promoting other allied health professionals to undertake Functional Capacity Assessments alongside participant, families and carers in relation to the 6 Functional Domains of Mobility, Communication, Socialising, Learning, Self Care, Self Management.
Following reports and research, NDIS Participant Plans are being held up for months before being implemented due to long wait lists for Occupational Therapists (OT’s). Where participants believe OT’s are the only allied health provider to conduct Functional Capacity Assessments for a range of Primary Disabilities. I understand this an Australia wide issue amongst NDIS Participants.
