I have an acquired disability and work with people with disabilities. The career guidance process or Discovery process (from customised employment in USA – where it is now mandated for DES, as successful) can be used with NDIA participants and their support team to develop a career/work/life plan linking interests, abilities and a way forward. The NDIA participant and his support team can then see how and whether an ADE stage in moving towards their objectives is appropriate and may even determine which one works in the right area to meet the indiviuals plan.

Without this step in an individuals path to employment, you have no idea what they want.
