Which priority group of the Try, Test and Learn Fund does your idea support?
Young carers, Young parents, Young students at risk of long-term unemployment
What need or issue are you trying to address?
The need being addressed is young peoples access to educational, parenting and employment support/mentoring. By providing such supports workforce participation would increase as the completion of schooling has been proven to facilitate greater work opportunities – likewise parenting support helps to aid these opportunities as does job seeker assistance. It has been reported that young parents have often felt forced to disengage from school; young carers may find it challenging to juggle both caring and their own educational needs; whilst young students may not know how to properly present themselves for employment opportunities – an application and/or an online forum that could address all of these needs would be highly beneficial.
What is your idea?
The idea is to create an application that can be accessed by young people to assist them to complete their studies, seek parenting advice or apply for jobs. The idea is that young people would be able to log on and request assistance with their schoolwork or job application, accessing tutoring/mentoring online from a trained professional.
