NDIS Participant Experience Survey
The Australian Government is working to improve the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) experience for people with disability, their families and carers. To do this, we are reviewing the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (the NDIS Act).
The review will help us to develop a new set of standards known as the NDIS Participant Service Guarantee (the Guarantee), to be introduced by mid-2020.
Once the Guarantee is implemented, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will need to make decisions about people’s plans within the timeframe set by the Guarantee.
This means people will know how long the NDIA will take to make a decision about their supports.
This survey is designed for NDIS participants or people who provide care and support for NDIS participants.
Ways to complete the survey
To help create the Guarantee, the Department of Social Services wants to know about people’s experiences with the NDIS. Your answers will help us understand what might need to change in the NDIS law, and what should be included in the Guarantee.
The Survey is available in a variety of formats to support people with disabilities.
The long-form survey is now open.
It includes up to 96 questions, depending on which sections you choose to answer.
If you want to provide us with a more detailed understanding of your experience of the NDIS, we suggest you complete the long-form survey.
This survey is also available in an accessible PDF version, or a plain Text Word document version, for you to print out, fill in, and return to us. Instructions are included in the document.
The Easy Read short-form online survey is now open.
This has fewer questions and covers the same topics, but with less detail.
This survey is available in an accessible PDF version, or a plain Text Word document version, for you to print out, fill in, and return to us. Instructions are included in the document.
The AUSLAN-supported survey will open shortly.
The long-form survey will be available in an Auslan-supported option for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
Each question will include an embedded Auslan video, with respondents then needing to answer the questions through an online plain English form.
