Developing the National Autism Strategy – How to make a submission

Thank you for your interest in helping to shape the National Autism Strategy.

You can use the submission form to:

  • respond to short guided questions
  • make a written submission
  • share an audio or video submission.

We suggest you refer to the Discussion paper or Summary discussion paper when preparing your response or submission. There are questions for consideration that you might like to think about when making your submission.

An Easy Read and Auslan version of the summary paper will be available soon.

Participating in the consultation

You will be asked some questions when you are completing the submission process:

  • Questions about yourself as an individual or the organisation you represent.
  • Some guided free text questions to help you respond to the Discussion paper. If you don’t want to answer the questions, you can skip them and upload a submission document or file.
  • Whether you want to upload a submission document. This is optional. You can submit a document or upload a copy of a submission you have used in a previous Autism inquiry or consultation process.

It is helpful to include headings with the topic or question you are addressing if you are uploading a written submission. You might also like to provide case studies or evidence if you are representing an organisation.

Making submissions public

The Government may choose to publish submissions. If you are lodging a written submission, you will be asked whether you would like your submission to be published on the department’s website and if you would like your input to be anonymous.

We will review submissions to make sure they comply with DSS Publishing and Production Policy and the DSS Privacy Policy requirements before they are published.

We may collect your personal information where you provide your name and email address, or if you contact the department. The Privacy Notice for this consultation includes more information.
