This is one area under which all sorts of wrong practices are happening . Since majority of the people with intellectual disability are unable to speak for themselves, these practices are being used in a wrong way to justify service providers poor services.
I also would like to see NDIS to reform terminology used to handle some documents such as Behavoiur management … It really usually is disable people left with managing service providers or support workers behaviours rather than other way around.

You’d probably find a lot less restrictive practices having to be used if the NDIS would look more sensibly on addressing health issues and really meeting people’s needs.

I think one could include Communication skills” for support workers and service providers” alongside Health and safety training.
If only health and safety training is given, an imbalance is created: Safety considerations and responsibilities can be easily mistakenly used to control people, instead of listening to their needs.
Especially challenging, of course, where communication is an issue.
