Expression of interest

Member, NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee
(Affirmative Measures – Disability)

This vacancy is open only to people with disability.

You can join the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Evidence Advisory Committee (EAC) under an Affirmative Measure for people with disability. The EAC will have members with disability across a range of areas of expertise.

The NDIS EAC is a committee that will start in July 2025. It will independently advise Government about the suitability of supports for NDIS funding. This will involve using evidence about benefits, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness. It will advise on the evidence for therapies, interventions and assistive technology that claim benefits for people with disability. Three technical subcommittees with expertise aligned to the priorities will support the EAC.

The Department recently sought expressions of interest from people in allied health disciplines, therapies, assistive technology or health economics fields. This vacancy seeks to add expertise in disability inclusion and intersectionality.

We want to hear from people who identify as a person with disability who:

  • have strong networks and connections across the disability community
  • know about issues with use of and access to therapy and assistive technology by people with disability
  • understand facing multiple barriers, including First Nations people, culturally and linguistically diverse, rural and remote areas, and LGBTIQA+ people
  • can build trust and work with stakeholders nationally to achieve objectives.

You can help shape the future of the NDIS and improve the lives of people with disability.

Before applying, please obtain selection documentation from EAC.AM@amandaorourke.com.au, putting in the subject field Ref. No. 1160.

If you applied to the recent EAC recruitment process, you do not need to reapply for this position. Please email EAC.AM@amandaorourke.com.au and advise that you wish to be considered for this position.

Applications close 11.59 pm AEST on 6 May 2025
